| Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Samkwang Medical Foundation and the 10th anniversary of SML Genetree with a commemorative booth
Samkwang Medical Foundation (Chairman: Taeguk Hwang) and SML Genetree (CEO: Dongsoo Lee) announced on the 8th that they had successfully participated in the ‘KSLM 2025 Spring Symposium’ hosted by the Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine (KSLM), held from April 3rd to 4th at HICO in Gyeongju, South Korea. The companies hosted a joint exhibition booth and engaged in a variety of academic activities.
To mark its 40th anniversary and SML Genetree’s 10th, Samkwang Medical Foundation organized a special exhibition booth showcasing its accumulated technological expertise and continuous innovation in diagnostic testing. The booth effectively communicated both companies' brand visions and identities in a dynamic and unified way.
Samkwang Medical Foundation attracted attention by introducing several of its key diagnostic services, including:
AlzOn, a blood test for assessing Alzheimer's disease risk
A genetic panel test for hereditary rare diseases
A genetic panel test for non-hereditary hematologic malignancies
Rapid CRE genotyping (Xpert) test
SML Genetree showcased a range of molecular diagnostic products centered around its NamuPlex™ brand, such as the STD12 Real-time PCR kit and the GI Bacteria 1, 2, and 3 Real-time PCR kits. The company also unveiled its automated nucleic acid extraction systems—GenetreEX™ 96, which can process up to 96 samples simultaneously and complete extraction in about 30 minutes, and GenetreEX™ 32, designed for 32 simultaneous samples. Additionally, SML Genetree introduced the GenetreEX™ GSL Buffer, used for pre-processing pathogenic enteric microorganisms and stool samples, offering an integrated diagnostic solution from DNA/RNA extraction to result generation. These presentations garnered strong interest and positive responses from attendees.
Through this event, both companies shared their past achievements and future visions, pledging to further strengthen their synergy in the diagnostic testing field.
